Our first BarkBox

So, I came across BarkBox about a month ago.  The idea is that you signup for a monthly delivery of a BarkBox that is filled with 4 carefully selected doggie  items.  But they're all a surpirse!  You never know what you're going to get. It's so fun!  Plus a portion of their proceeds are donated to local shelters/rescues.   Clearly I was hooked from the get-go.

Our first box arrived a few days ago and I was quite excited about it.  I used to do a Beauty Box (which I can't remember the name of) and it was alright, but I'm not really into beauty products.  Dog products on the otherhand, yes please.

I'll be sitting here waiting for someone to start MeowBox any day now! 🙂

When the BarkBox arrives you will clearly see what it is before you even open it.  So if you need to hide it from your spouse or something, they make this very convenient (some women hide the new shoes they purchase, I hide bully sticks and dog treats. thanks BarkBox!)

When you open the box, you are greeted with a sweet little package of doggie items.  (make believe there's a picture here with some lovely blue tissue paper wrapped around all the wonderful goodies)

Included is a card, which explained that April is “all-natural” month (which of course made me so happy!).  While they try to always include all-natural products, not every BarkBox will contain them.

And on the back of the card, there is information on each item included in the box and where you can go to purchase more.

So the first item is Little Eatz.  We already have our pantry stocked with Little Eatz treats because not only are they good, and healthy, but you can eat them too!  It's sharing for the whole family. Our dogs absolutely love them and I wonder sometimes if it's because they are just THAT good or because they see me eating them too. I guess we'll never know, but we sure will continue to buy them!

The next item is the K-10+ supplements. I'd never heard of these before but they sound pretty neat.  You simply add them to your dog's water and they get the vitamins they need. I've not tried these yet as I've inquired with K-10+ to find out if these are safe for kitties.  With three cats in the house, everyone shares everything! I just heard back from K-10+ and these are safe for kitty too!  Score.

Next up, from Eco Dog Planet are Doggie Waste Bags. Everyone should have these. There is simply no excuse. They are made from the tapioca plant, which is not only a renewable resource but also a non-GMO crop. This is a perfect solution for picking up the poop without increasing the amount of harmful plastic into our environment.

Ah the bully stick. Someone is a huge fan of them. Barkworthies bully sticks are all-natural, odor-free, and 100% digestable.  Plus your dog will simply flip for them. Since we have two pups, I had to cut this one in half so they could each get a little piece of the pie.  It was all gone in about 8 minutes.

“eatin' my feets and my bully stick”

“don't judge man”

Last but definitely not least, we have Freezy Pups.

As you can see, I couldn't wait to try this out.  Like most dogs, ours love ice and when we get ice from the fridge they sit right in front of it praying for a little piece to magically drop into their mouths.  I had to make them the day the BarkBox arrived.

The Freezy Pups come with the ice tray (made from non-toxic recycable material) and 4 flavor packages; White Cheddar Cheese, Juicy Apple, Sweet Potato 'n Maple, and Chicken Soup, all of which are organic.  One single packet makes all 14 ice bones.  I ended up making the Juicy Apple to start.

Dew would try to swallow the entire thing so I had to break it up, which was easy enough. He gobbled up every drop!

It took Frosty all of .03 seconds to realize that these were going to rock.

“More please!”

I'm really excited about the Freezy Pups.  They have already come in handy on a hot day where both boys were super thirsty and I tossed each of them an ice cube outside and it cooled them down and made them happy, plus they are less than 4 calories each; so you don't have to worry about your dogs packing on the pounds. Their girlish figures are safe!

We also received this cute t-shirt and doggy collar (yellow with BarkBox on it) which I can not locate. I think one of the cats ran off with it and has it in one of their many hiding spots.  Overall, I'm quite happy with all of these products and our first BarkBox! Now the waiting begins until the next one arrives!
